Audio Visual Ministry
The purpose of the Audio/Visual Ministry is to share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ to the lost and provide opportunities that engages a worship experience for listeners through live worship streaming on UBBC’s website and recordings that are available through CD’s and DVD’s at the end of each service for attending worshippers. Our ministry is also used as a means to encourage and share the “Good News” of Jesus Christ to the Sick and Shut-in of our church family.

Campus Ministry
The purpose of the Campus Ministry is to build relationships with college students around Central Virginia. Our goal is to provide them with a place of worship to call home and where they can experience communal Praise and Worship through the preached word and fellowship with other believers.
This ministry works to uplift, encourage, and equip college students to love and serve Jesus Christ in every aspect of their lives through bonding, building relationships, and sharing their experiences in order to holistically receive a greater understanding of Jesus Christ.
Cancer Support Ministry
The purpose of the Cancer Support Ministry is to provide reassurance and hope to each participant that with God’s presence in our lives we will be able to overcome fear of Cancer and other illnesses. We accomplish this by becoming knowledgeable of God’s Word, the sharing of testimonies, and actively participating in seminars.
Children for Christ’s Sake Ministry
The Children for Christ’s Sake Ministry is designed for children in grades 1st – 5th. The purpose of this ministry is to provide a worship and Bible based teaching environment that facilitates the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in person’s lives.
Wednesday night Bible study from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm is provided for studying and learning God’s word and children’s church on 1st and 2nd Sunday’s at 10:00 am is available to allow children the opportunity to express true worship and praise. Sermonettes are also shared to help children develop Christ-like character that is necessary in becoming faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
Christian Education Ministry
The purpose of the Christian Education Ministry is to support the Mission of the Church which is to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is our curriculum. Therefore, we provide ongoing biblical teachings, trainings, and experiences that will encourage, empower, and equip the body of Christ to mature spiritually and productively as imitators of Jesus Christ in worship, Discipleship, Evangelism, Missions and Stewardship.
Drama Ministry
The purpose of the Drama Ministry is to create radical, out of the box experiences through drama in order to reach people for Jesus Christ and make a positive, life changing impact on the audience.
The Drama Ministry presents an Easter and Christmas production annually and several skits through out the year during the 10:00 am morning worship service.
The Fellowship Hour
The purpose of the Fellowship Hour is to lift up the name of Jesus by teaching his word and about his love so that the body of believers can become spiritually matured disciples of Christ and equipped to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19)
We seek to accomplish this by providing Biblical based age appropriate classes every Sunday morning from
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. The Rotation Model Teaching is used for our Elementary, Middle, and High School students.
Flower Ministry
The purpose of the Flower Ministry is to send floral arrangements to encourage and uplift members of UBBC whenever they are hospitalized or experience bereavement from the transitioning of an immediate family member.
We also provide flowers for the sanctuary throughout the year to commemorate Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas and special events such as the Church Anniversary and Homecoming.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
The purpose of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry is to meet regularly, pray continually and consistently for a great variety of needs.
The Intercessory Prayer Ministry is a devoted group of believers that are dedicated to coming together to pray for everyone, every need, and every situation. Prayer Warriors meet every Saturday at 8:00 am.
This group of believers stand on the promising word of James 5:16,
“The effectual fervent payer of the righteous availeth much.”
Men’s Ministry
The purpose of the Men’s Ministry is to support, train, and equip men so they will be fully developed and spiritually mature to carry out the mission of UBBC and God’s purpose for their lives.

- Supportive of Children and Youth
- Supportive of the Church Family and Community
Missionary Ministry
The purpose of the Missionary Ministry is giving assistance to meet the needs of persons throughout the local community and within the UBBC church family.
We maintain to carry this out by visiting nursing homes, sponsoring clothing and food drives, assembling and distributing Thanksgiving baskets and making Christmas merry for the needy families.
Missions Ministry
The purpose of the Missions Ministry is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through reaching out in Love and Compassion while meeting the needs of others.

Prison Ministry
The purpose of the Prison Ministry is to reach every inmate in prison with the” good news” of Jesus Christ and teach the word of God to help them develop as mature disciples and become effective “disciple makers” in the correctional facilities.
Our Focus is:
- Effective Evangelism – Sharing the clear message of the Gospel.
- Biblical Discipleship – Equipping believers to be devoted followers of Christ.
- Church Mobilization – Challenging the church and community to partner in ministry to meet the needs of inmates.
Recreation & Sports Ministry / Faith & Fitness
The vision of “Faith & Fitness” Announces a spiritual awareness and development, to seek every opportunity to reach the lost, honor God and to relate to the whole person in an exceptional and distinctive method that combines Faith and Fitness!
The mission of “Faith & Fitness” is a program to use God’s word and biblical understanding to improve a mindset that embraces the application of Christian values to achieve total wellness. It will also testify to the community that you can have fun and relax within yourself while having a relationship with God.
Scholarship Ministry
The purpose of the Scholarship Ministry is to assist and encourage high school students who are members of UBBC to strive for excellence and continue their education.
We support High School students by offering monetary gifts to students that have a 3.0 GPA and have been accepted to an accredited college or university.
Senior Ministry
Usher’s Ministry (Adults)
The mission of the Adult’s Usher’s Ministry is to serve the Lord with gladness and to ensure that every person entering the church is greeted with gladness. To also ensure that visitors are offered assistance as appropriate so that everyone feels important, welcome, and is able to find his or her desired designation easily.
Usher’s Ministry (Youth)
The purpose of the Youth Usher’s Ministry is to offer youth an opportunity to receive training and exercise their gift of hospitality by serving in the Youth Usher’s Ministry. Youth are given the opportunity to serve in worship services on the 4th and 5th Sundays.
Our main focus is to insure that every person entering the church is greeted with gladness and feels important and welcome.
Women’s Fellowship Ministry (W.O.W.)
The purpose of the Women of Worship is to foster strong relationships with other women in the church through fellowship, women’s bible study, and support groups.
The Women of Worship meet the second Saturday of every month from 10am-11am.
