• Dr. Gregory M. Howard Pastor Gregory M. Howard Rev. Dr. Gregory M. Howard is a native of Lancaster, Virginia and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia. He is married to the former Margaret Edmond and is the proud father of two girls-Destiny and Holli. Rev. Howard is our 13th beloved Pastor here at Union Branch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia where he promotes Kingdom-like living by unconditionally loving God and all of God's people.

Rev. Howard holds a B.S. in Organizational Management and Development from Bluefield College, a Master in Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and an earned Doctor in Ministry in Homiletics from the Aquinas Institute of Theology. Rev. Howard is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Board Member of the Children's Home of Virginia Baptists, Co-President for the National Alumni of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, and active supporter of local, state, and national conventions. Rev. Howard is also the author of "Black Sacred Rhetoric: A Commentary for African American Preaching".

Above all, Rev. Howard loves God and the challenge of helping others see God's grace in their own lives by proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Rev. Howard believes that we have been blessed with life and created in the image of God to be with and for one another, therefore, he strives to tear down the many obstacles that keep us from coming together in godly communion.

Rev. Howard is truly an anointed servant of God and that has become evident since April 8, 2007 (Easter Sunday) when he began his pastorate here at Union Branch. We prayed to God to send us the leader that God wanted us to have and we believe that God has answered our prayers. We are very excited about what God is doing through this union of Pastor and People.
  • Be Encouraged... ...there will be times when you will be confronted and challenged by what appears to be overwhelming circumstances, but be strong and of good courage--watch what God can do with or without your best effort. Whatever you do and whatever you are going through, don't make your opposition's job easy--be imaginatively hopeful and trust in God by living as if your need has already been fulfilled.

We look forward to any questions or comments you may have.

May each one of your days be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    Dr. Gregory M. Howard, Pastor
