Our History

“We Have Come This Far by Faith” – Union Branch is known as a “City of Hope” as countless strangers have entered and remained as family because of the genuine love and support they experience. Union Branch was organized in 1890 and continues to thrive because of the grace of God. Currently we are now being led by our 14th pastor. During our storied history, God has called approximately 21 men and women to minister the Gospel as well as establish countless ministries to serve all members. By God’s grace this community of faith has been used as an agent of change as many lives have been transformed through this church’s ministry.

The church campus has been enlarged four times with the most recent $3.1 million expansion being completed in November 2011.

Our Vision

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. ~Matthew 5:14-16

Union Branch Baptist Church is a “City of Hope” whereby persons from various backgrounds and situations of life gather to experience the love of God through community. The “City of Hope” is where individuals of all walks of life who are genuinely seeking salvation from moral, social, economic, and political sins can come and experience the liberating spirit of Jesus Christ through the various ministries here at Union Branch Baptist Church. As a retreat and respite from the stressful and sinful world that we live in, persons will develop a greater sense of hope as this pleasant atmosphere attempts to offer a taste of glory divine.

Our Mission

The purpose of this Church is to advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ. We seek to attain this end through public worship of God, the preaching of the gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, personal evangelism, missionary endeavors and Christian education.

Our Beliefs

Many members have served faithfully here at Union Branch, but we realize that our legacy and the next chapter to our history depend on our willingness to embrace the newness of God as well as receive all who God sends this way. The great work of this ministry has been shaped by countless personalities here at UBBC. Please visit our on campus library and read in greater detail our blessed history. We will continue rejoicing, thanking, and praising God who has kept us down through the years as we believe that God will keep us until God comes again.
